A guide for visiting sailing boats in Reykjavík
IMPORTANT: If you just arrived in Iceland and Reykjavík is your first port, please read the information below regarding customs, coast guard and border control before leaving the boat!
Introduction
Welcome to Reykjavík. We hope you will enjoy your stay here at the marina of the Reykjavik Sailing Club, Brokey. The Sailing Club provides berths for visiting boats, including electricity, water, shower, toilets, and washing machine. The main visitor space consists of two 40m floating pontoons, for boats of various lengths.
The harbour manager comes to the marina at 18:00 UTC every day. Please settle your harbour fees at 18:00 on the day before leaving.

400 ISK per meter per day.
Access Code
Visitors get an access code for the shower/toilet and laundry room. Please do not share this with other than your crew and fellow boat people. There is no car access or parking allowed on the dock.
Shower and Toilet
Two showers and toilets are available for no extra charge. Please be tidy and always leave the door closed.
Washing machine and dryer
The washing machine and dryer are located in the shower room. There is no extra charge for use of the washing machine or dryer, but users need to supply their own detergent. Please be aware of not loading the washing machine with more load than it can handle. If the washing machine displays an error, please unplug the machine, wait several seconds and plug it back in.
Water
Water is available free of charge from the floating pontoons.
Electricity
Electric outlets , 230V, 50Hz, 16A, are on the floating pontoons. Electricity costs 3000 ISK per day.
Gas
Propane gas tanks are available at petrol stations. Butane is not available and it is not possible to refill gas tanks in Iceland.
Fuel
Please contact our marina manager for ordering fuel.
Waste
A garbage container is on the pier. No extra charge. Please use the key from the laundry room and put it back to the same place.
A disposal tank for waste oil is on the north side of the harbour. It is marked: “Úrgangs olía”. Please do not leave waste oil with us.
Plastic waste and cans/bottles have marked bins inside the laundry room.
Old 12V batteries, paint and chemicals should be taken to the SORPA Recycle Center. Please do not leave old batteries with us.

Coast Guard
All ships (including pleasure boats) approaching Iceland should report to the Icelandic Coast Guard more than 24 hours before arrival. It is highly recommended to send email before departure with the following information: Vessel name, vessel type, MMSI nr, call sign, nationality, length over all, colour of hull, sail nr, number of people on board, last port, estimated date and time of arrival, port of arrival and information about every crew member (name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, place of birth).

Customs
On arrival to Iceland you must clear customs before leaving the boat. If they do not come soon to the boat you can call the Reykjavik Officer on watch: +354 898 8493

Border Control
Officers from the police border control might come to your boat after arrival but in most cases passport check is done by the customs officers. To avoid frequent visits, please hang the yellow form (obtained from customs) in a window or a visible place onboard.
